On the first day of Allee gallery’s 2024 spring auction, a remarkable price record was broken – with a starting price of 17 000 Eur, Eduard Wiiralt’s famous piece “Inferno” was sold at a final price of 63 000. Provided to the gallery by a family of doctors based in Tartu, the print was in excellent condition because it had been safely held in a folder for decades.
The TOP 5 highest prices of the auction::
- Nikolai Kummits “Street at night” – 94 000 Eur (starting price 20 000 Eur)
- Peeter Mudist “Vacationers” – 64 500 Eur (starting price 32 000 Eur)
- Eduard Wiiralt “Inferno” – 63 000 Eur (starting price 17 000 Eur)
- Alice Kask “Untitled” – 52 000 Eur (starting price 22 000 Eur)
- Konstantin Süvalo “Pärnu river”– 46 000 Eur (starting price 30 000 Eur)
In total, 150 pieces found a new owner at the three-day auction from a total number of 188. The biggest price increase in relation to the starting price was made by “Sea” by Edgar Valter, which sold at nearly 7 times the starting price.
Allee gallery would like to wholeheartedly thank all participants and everyone who offered us their great pieces of art. We will now begin preparing new exhibits as well as the autumn auction 2024.
