At the Allee gallery classics spring auction that took place on the 7th of May, most of the available pieces found a new home and many authors broke their personal records.
The marathon auction hosted by Harry Liivrand lasted 6.5h and consisted of 86 excellent artworks.
Based on the feedback of our guests and the number of bids, we can deduct that the most popular era is still the 1960s and 1970s, with particular attention paid to Vint, Arrak, Janov, Sooster, Maran and Valter. The interest in Baltic German artists also seems to be increasing.
The 2022 spring classics auction’s top 5 hammer prices were as follows:
- Aili Vint „A symmetrical composition“, 1977 – 55 000 Eur
- Ülo Sooster „Junipers“, 1970 – 44 500 Eur
- Johannes Võerahansu „Landscape with an arched bridge“, 1934 – 37 000 Eur
- August Jansen „Women with apples“, 1945 – 28 500 Eur
- Ann Audova „A sea of flowers“, 1947 – 26 500 Eur
