Internationally renowned surrealist graphic artist Vello Vinn (b. 1939) is a sovereign creator in Estonian art who, relying on photographic imagery, has created a unique combination of pop art, op art, and surrealism. In the 1970s and 1980s, Vinn was fascinated by urban themes and in his virtuoso compositions, combined objects and buildings that are impossible in reality with recognizable ones in a composition that feeds the imagination, such as this one.

In “Environment III”, which is only available in 20 prints, Vinn observes the environment from the position of a future builder, a futurist, using fragments from art history to amplify the message and playing with dozens of meanings. However, the owl, a symbol of wisdom, must remember when flying out of the picture that a visually impressive environment may not always be the best place to make a nest.
