“Women’s world” is one of the most mysterious and intriguing paintings in Valdur Ohakas’ (1925-1998) 1990s portfolio. Ohakas liked to paint the female nude and usually based his work on a plot. In this painting, however, the artist plays with ancient mythology instead. Gallant Rococo codas, Picasso-like deformation, El Greco-like expression, and eroticism. The painting, which greatly fuels the imagination, does not neglect pictorial values and coloristic mastery dominates the entire composition.
