An unusually realistic landscape by the master of metaphysical paintings Toomas Vint (b. 1944) convinces us that even a simple view of a meadow illuminated by the evening sun with a few white-trunked birches and a dark forest fringe can be completely enchanting and hypnotically beautiful in his interpretation. As the artist himself has said: “There must be a miracle within the picture — then the picture comes alive.”

Vint is one of the greatest technical painters in Estonian art whose meticulous nature does not turn into dry academicism but instead reflects the colorfulness of life according to the time of day as it should. The blue sky balances the dominant green tone in the composition in just the right proportion.
