Takinada (b. 1980), who works as both a painter and a puppeteer, masters the possibilities of the watercolor technique to their ultimate limits with playful ease, so that when admiring the deep tones of her works, one may get the impression as if oil paints were used instead.
The dreamy painting “This never happened” takes us straight to the heart of a warm summer. To the place where the intoxicatingly sweet-smelling haystacks have grown just long enough that you can hide from the whole world by lying in them. There is only nature with its almighty enchantment and you, whose worries disappear, and all this never happened…
