Silvia Jõgever (1924-2005) played an important role in the modernization of Tartu’s art scene from the second half of the 1950s onwards. Her influential compositions were simultaneously built on contrasts, but on the other hand, on their pure tonal, clear harmony.

“The game of clouds” represents just that – a sensuously soft overall gamut, enlivened by deep dark spots of color, which in turn, when reflected from the water’s surface, transform into soft, blurred tones. The moody depiction of the reflection effect of foamy clouds is the pinnacle of post-Palladianism par excellence.
