Robin Nõgisto (b. 1992), whose social criticism is as sharp as his color palette, is currently one of the most sought-after names on the Estonian art scene. At only 33 years old, the Tallinn-based artist has, thanks to his originality, gained both media attention and opportunities to participate in exhibitions — both abroad and in Estonia.

This particular acrylic painting is also one of the ones that was exhibited as part of the cultural program of the Paris Olympics. His last grand exhibition “Rainbows Per Minute” took place in 2025 at the barrel gallery of Viimsi Artium. The first layer of “Fight for Your Like” seems to clearly — but always in a humorous tone as is typical of Nõgisto — attack our social media obsession.

Growing up during the final years of MTV’s golden age, Nõgisto is likely to have also been partially inspired by Big Daddy Roth and other leading figures of the low-brow art movement that originated in California. Fight for your like, because it’s a matter of life and death.
