One of the most prominent representatives of neo-photorealism in a slightly impressionistic style of painting, Peeter Must (b. 1967) has made a name for himself in recent years as both a landscape and nude painter. In his nude paintings, he is primarily interested in the expression of emotion and body language, rather than the portrait of the model. Therefore, Must’s muses are anonymous and, in their tenderness, exist somewhere between a dream world and reality simultaneously.

In the painting “Sunday”, the central figure is a young woman who has probably just woken up and looks out the window at a beautiful landscape in bright sunlight. The lazy Sunday mood is prevalent in the painting, associated with sleeping in and the smell of fresh coffee wafting in the background.
