The Picasso-like nude painting from Evald Okas’ (1915-2011) late creative period also features a unique improvisation in terms of color, operating only with red and white, merging the white linen and background into a unique whole. The colors also symbolically emphasize the emotional aspect of the work, which has always been characteristic of Okas’ nudes. The woman’s oriental features may refer to memories of a trip to Japan.
