Evald Okas (1915-2011) was an artistic genius in the genre of nude painting, which most clearly highlighted the artist’s abilities as a painter. In this particular piece, he proves his perfect mastery of the genre because with minimalist lines, both the beautiful forms of the woman’s body and her sensual nature are conveyed.

In addition, Okas demonstrates his skill in using tonal painting here. By using only brown color, the work is full of life and we notice both the light falling on the body and the shadow on the woman’s face. The leading artist of Estonian nude painting here proves himself truly worthy of the title.
