Allex Kütt (1921-1991), who graduated from the Art Institute in 1949, became one of the innovators of Estonian graphic art from the second half of the 1950s, both thematically, stylistically and technically, because he finally managed to free himself, at least partially, from the imposed precepts.

In the first half of the 1980s, Kütt went along with the current photorealism and created compositions contrasting the industrial environment and nature, one of the most effective examples of which is “Clouds”. By placing a group of young and successful people standing in a closed room, fashionably dressed, looking out the window at the cloudy sky, the graphic artist seems to capture the moment of the birth of something great.

The situation, which is perfectly implemented in a modern environment, gives the work a truly timeless dimension. It is interesting to observe the richness of the body language that emphasizes the situation – according to the temperament of each individual.
