Alfred Kongo (1906-1990) who graduated from Pallas with Endel Kõks in 1940 in the last class of the Republic, is a colorist par excellence . We know the artist, who studied under Villem Ormisson and Ado Vabbe, mainly for his flower paintings but he has also created equally excellent works in other genres.
By dealing with one of the more artistically complex subjects, night light, he proves his masterful ability to depict light and shadow. On a moonlit night, completely new nuances shine: instead of house walls, windows glow in a dim light, rose blossoms whose majesty emerges from a completely new angle. The mystery and magic emanating from the piece leaves the viewer room for creative fantasy.
