“The gaze rests in the gaze
lips open
and a simple word blooms like a flower.”

Excerpt from a poem by Doris Kareva

How would you like a beautiful summer day with the muses? Time is spent in the best possible way, with beautiful art, flowers and music. This work by Evald Okas (1915-2011) exudes freedom and mystery – the creative freedom and joy are contagious. Thanks to the artist’s good sense of form, the curves of women are transformed into sculptural goddesses amidst delicate fabrics.

Presented with an impressionistic elegance, the work is vibrant, sensitive and free, capturing the essence of each beautiful lady and demonstrating the power of the sketchy line to convey beauty. The composition, directed by gazes, strings and hands, focuses on a delicate flower between the palms, the falling of which creates erotic allegories.
