Tiiu Pallo-Vaik (b. 1941), a member of the legendary art group ANK ’64, combines realistic motifs and a purely painterly abstract accent in her work. A romantic by nature, Pallo-Vaik’s paintings and watercolors carry a very lyrical mood.

Painting a sunset shaded by fog like a classic seascape motif, the artist extends the golden-red reflection of the water mirror to the shore, where the reflection of the sun becomes a magically glowing dominant color. Here, Pallo-Vaik comes into contact with surreal imagery, although a certain magic, a feeling of absence already starts in the upper, foggy forest of the painting. Welcome to the magical embrace of the evening sunset!

In addition to Estonian art museums, Tiiu Pallo-Vaik’s works are also part of several international collections, including the Zimmerli Art Museum in the USA.
