Renaldo Veeber (1937-2010), with a masculine and powerful style, was an award-winning sculptor (recipient of the Kreutzwald Memorial Medal in 2008), a master of intaglio printing techniques as a graphic artist and in his private life, a passionate researcher of heritage culture and curator of the Saatse Museum.

The drypoint technique print “Smoke break” depicts a fishing motif close to Veeber’s own heart. With the nets set and preparations made, the bodybuilder-sized fishermen depicted with the artist’s characteristic strong lines have sat down for a well-deserved rest, which the man on the right is enjoying to the fullest, smiling.
