Art philosopher and lecturer Tõnis Vint (1942-2019) has been one of the most influential graphic artists in Estonian art. Co-founder of the art group ANK´64 and creator of the group Studio 22, which brought together various creative people, his teachings and philosophy left an indelible mark on countless future artists from Estonia and elsewhere.

In Vint’s 1980s graphics and drawings, we often encounter fairy-like creatures against a geometric background. The figures, dressed in stylized robes and only partially covered, exude self-awareness and wisdom despite their delicacy. These are typical examples of trans-avant-gardism, characterized by a mystical undertone.
