Ioan Augustin POP “Medium III”, 2012
On April 19th, 2023 the first gallery exhibition of Romanian art in Estonia will be opened in Allee galerii (curator Harry Liivrand).
20 paintings from the first two decades of the 21st Century represent the works of 20 Romanian artists. All exhibited pieces belong to the contemporary art collection of one of the most well-known botanical gardens in Romania, in the City of Jibou. Therefore the art itself also represents or interprets garden landscapes.
Through time garden design has been one of the most common ways of creating esthetic environments. Either French or English style, forest parks or home gardens, the topic has inspired painters for centuries. Different forms are also represented in the works of exhibited Romanian artists, who interpret the garden and park culture in a more realistic and impressionist manner, sometimes even in a photorealistic style. A satisfying mix of plein air and fantasy landscapes, of bouquets and flower beds all come together in a sensitive, inspiring manner.
Participating artists: Cornel Ailincai, Radu Serban, Radu Pulbere, Horea Pastina, Christian Porumb, Marcel Lupse, Constantin Raducan, Andrei Campan, Teodora Chinschi, Gabriela Anitei, Crina Antonescu, Ioan Augustin Pop, Dorel Gaina, Lucian Muntean, Alexandru Antonescu, Iona Antoniu, Blanca Alina Pop, Mihai Sarbulescu, Adriana Elian, Eugen Moritz.
