Nii suure t\u00e4helepanu ja austusega, kui l\u00e4henes botaanikale Leis, ei leia me tema kaasaegsete seast \u00fchtegi teist kunstnikku. Tema s\u00fcdames elasid samasuguse s\u00e4raga lisaks tulpidele, krookustele ja Eestimaa k\u00f5rrelistele ka muud taimed \u2013 k\u00e4esoleval teosel n\u00e4iteks kodune rabarber. Leisile omaselt ei piirdu kunstnik vaid detailidega, vaid laseb kogu taimel hiilata. Kevadise \u00e4rkaja tumelilla s\u00fcdamik ning aina p\u00e4ikese poole p\u00fc\u00fcdlevad v\u00e4gevad lehed kasvab m\u00fchinal otse vaataja silme ees.
