[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text text_larger=”no”]Arnold Peeter Vihvelin (1892 – 1962) s\u00fcndis Tartumaal rahvalaulude kogujast metsavahi pojana ning tema kirg kunsti vastu sai alguse juba 6-aastaselt, mil noor poiss oma portreemaalijast sugulase innustusel maalima hakkas. Erinevates maalistuudiotes end t\u00e4iendamas k\u00e4imine p\u00e4\u00e4dis Peterburi Kunstiakadeemia eduka l\u00f5petamisega. Peale kooli asus Vihvelin t\u00f6\u00f6le Rakverre, kus lisaks joonistus\u00f5petaja ametile tegeles aktiivselt edasi maalimise ja graafikaga.<\/p>\n

Stiilne, dekoratiivse m\u00f5juga maastik on l\u00e4hedane Vihvelini Narva vaadetele 1920. aastate keskpaigast. Vihvelini Peterburiaegsed \u00f5pingud tuntud pedagoogide R\u00f5lovi ja Samoki\u0161i juures ning 20. sajandi alguse vene maalikooli m\u00f5ju on teoses tuntav ning sama stiili arendas ta edasi ka 1930ndatel.
